This ambitious project involved an intense and immersive process of gathering thousands of high-quality photographs from across the country—spanning bustling cities, remote villages, historic landmarks, and natural wonders. The challenge was not just in collecting these images but in curating and designing them into a compelling visual narrative that authentically represents Nigeria.

The journey to create Discover Nigeria took photographers, researchers, and designers to all corners of the country. From the rolling hills of Obudu to the sand dunes of Yobe, from the ancient walls of Kano to the megacity of Lagos, the project demanded a deep commitment to showcasing the country’s beauty in its entirety. A team of photographers traveled extensively for months, navigating difficult terrains and unpredictable weather to capture rare and authentic moments. Drone photography was employed to showcase Nigeria’s breathtaking aerial views, from the Niger Delta’s winding rivers to the expanse of the Sahara in the north. Many images required securing special permissions to document historical and sacred sites.

The book was structured thematically, moving from landscapes to culture, traditions, festivals, and contemporary life. Each chapter was designed to feel like a visual journey, guiding the reader through Nigeria’s diversity without feeling disjointed. We used large-format spreads were used for dramatic landscapes, while collages were designed for cultural events to capture energy and movement.
